We create animations of all lengths, from 30 second shorts to our current project, a feature length movie! Most of these animations are done using the stop-motion technique (similar to clay-mation), but we do dabble in the paper cut-out and sand animation as well. Our animations feature animals, animals, and more animals. Some animals look real, some look abstract and quirky, but all of them are made with the same mission in mind: to show people how important nature is to our everyday life, and why we need to protect it. See a few of our animations here.
One unique thing about our animations, is the materials they're made from...trash. We make movies from materials found in trash cans, recycle bins, styrofoam from packages we recieve, and more. Anything that doesn't biodegrade goes straight into the animations; we take a major pollutant, and we reverse its' negative effect by giving it a new life. StartMotions also creates animations using minimal equipment. In most cases, no more than most people have at home (a camcorder, still camera, old film camera, etc.) We take "low budget" to a new low, and why not right? This way we get to put the funding toward things that really matter, like saving the animals and their habitats.
Right now, we're in the process of researching and storyboarding a feature length movie. Two By Two is a wonderful animated adventure that involves over 60 animal species from around the world. The movie is scheduled for release mid-summer 2008 and is sure to astound audiences of all ages.
